Crochet Jar Cover and a Lovely Award

Hello friends, thank you so so much for your words of encouragement on my first sweater! I really love reading them and just let you know how much you have warmed my heart. I do appreciate!!

I made this jar cover last Sunday morning, I just felt quite lazy and wanted to make something small and interesting to "refresh" my mind while working on my other time consuming projects...

I used 2 strands of light weight cotton and didn't prepare the order of colors first, they were chosen randomly. Doesn't it look lovely? I put my bamboo needles in this jar for a while and now it has a new shirt!

I had a lot of fun making it, and this cutie just made my Sunday! :)

One more thing I would want to share, I received a lovely award from a lovely bloggie friend when I was on vacation. Yufang at Hollywood Cerise blog passed this award on to me and I was so happy! Thank you so much, lady for thinking of me, it's such an honor! If you haven't checked out her blog yet, she is AWESOME!
Thank you so much for stopping by!

Wishing everyone a great week ahead!

Hugs, LS xxxxx

~ Grass and Flowers Crochet Bag

Hello everyone! I am very happy you like the dotty square pattern on my last post. Thank you for all your sweet comments and compliments. I really appreciate! I made 24 squares and here is what I turned them into: a granny bag! Some of you guessed I would make a blanket - that's a lovely idea for my next projects! :)

This bag actually was done, packed and sent to the birthday girl on July 31, but I was unwell and too busy the last few days to post about it. I made the same bag a while ago, with solid granny square pattern and different type of yarn. I'm still using it and love it.

I worked very hard on the lining for this bag. My previous one doesn't have a zipper so I'm afraid to carry important personal stuff like a wallet or so. This time I managed to sew a zipper to secure the bag, and a small zipper for the small inside pocket too.

Even this little piece to hold one end of the zipper took me a lot of effort - sew and unsew - again and again until I got pleased with it.

A look from top with the zipper closed:

I named this bag "Grass and Flowers", as I love the "green grass" look when it was all joined together, the dots in center of each square and the lining fabric are beautiful flowers that I really liked. The only thing is, it no longer stayed with me!

Thank you so much for dropping in. Wishing you all a gorgeous weekend!!!

~ See you soon! ♥

Tutorial: Crochet Hair Scrunchie

Hello friends!

Thank you ever so much for your sweet words on my last post, you made my day!

I just finished my tutorial on how to make a scrunchie and am very happy to share you today. This is also my first attempt to make a tutorial, so please correct me if there are any mistakes. I hope it helps those who are new to crochet! Thank you!

Okay, let's start. What you need is: some cotton thread, 1.8mm crochet hook (or any size that works well with your thread/yarn) and a pony tail band.

Make a slip knot. Insert the hook through the pony tail band, pull thread through the band and the slip knot.

Pull the thread tightly, like this and you are ready to go.

Round 1: Chain 3,

Single crochet into the loop.

Continue: chain 3, single crochet into the loop. Repeat all around the hair band. You may need to slide the stitches down to cover the band.

When the stitches all cover the band, join with slip stitch to the first chain-3 space.

You've finished round 1.

Round 2: Single crochet into the same space.

Chain 3, single crochet into the next chain-3 space.

Continue all around, like so. Join with slip stitch to the first single crochet.

Round 3: Single crochet into the first chain-3 space. Chain 3.

Make 5 double crochet into the same space, then make a single crochet into the next chain-3 space.

Continue: Chain 3, make 5 double crochet into the same space and single crochet ino the next space. Repeat all around and join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet.

There you have it! Enjoy and happy wearing!!
Lovely day to all! ♥

Crochet Hair Scrunchies

Hello, hello, how is everyone doing? I hope you all had a great weekend with family and friends!

The first project I thought about when I started to learn to crochet is making myself some hair scrunchies, but I have not yet made even one until now, though it's a easy project. I decided to make some over the weekend, and they were really fun to make!

One in light blue...

One in variegated color of red and white...

And another one in pink...

I just love these small lovely stuff and really enjoy wearing them!

They look so nice, don't they? I will make more to match my shirts! Would you like the pattern? I'm working on the tutorial and will post it shortly! Just come back!
Thank you for your time, hope your new week is awesome!

See you later! ♥
