As mentioned by other above. At the end of the at Body you have 84 stitches ( me too), but after 12st rnd of brim you show count should be 105, I get 98. You are increasing 14 stitches, should be 98 (which is what I get). Then on Rnd. 3, it just doesn't make sense, if you follow the pattern, the increase stitch sometimes ends up where you are doing the FPDC???? Very confused, but so want to finish this for my friend asap. Please help... Just want to be clear because my stitch count on the round of the hat are not coming out correctly... starting at rd 3- I would chain 3 then dc 1 into that same stitch and then increase and repeat from there right? Or am I doing something else wrong, because I count after doing 1dc in the next st then 2dc in the following and so on, and I'm coming out a stitch off.
Thanks again.. beautiful work!Crochaysiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08646075530281227325noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3081803395409933384.post-32135790242452940382014-05-01T22:54:40.507+07:002014-05-01T22:54:40.507+07:00Thank you for this adorable pattern. Skip 2 stitches, dc in the next st". This doesn't mean [dc-ch1-dc] is made every 3rd st. If read it carefully you should notice this means the multiple is 6, not 3. Did you notice the "skip 2 sts" between each [2dc-ch1-2dc]? Then you should have 14 shells instead 28. lovestitchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00234551267144242844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3081803395409933384.post-92195214547134359682013-03-06T10:25:21.016+07:002013-03-06T10:25:21.016+07:00I just love this hat, however I'm having probl...I just love this hat, however I'm having problems starting the "body" you say to work the dc ch 1 dc in every 3rd stitch, if I do that I get 28 shells, not 14 so did you mean every 6th stitch?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3081803395409933384.post-5241062270057032392013-02-14T21:56:41.112+07:002013-02-14T21:56:41.112+07:00This is gorgeous! This is gorgeous!Kara @ Petals to Picots Crochethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08581506769693929753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3081803395409933384.post-9846113444698707842013-02-01T07:13:36.158+07:002013-02-01T07:13:36.158+07:00I love the look of this hat and can hardly wait to...I love the look of this hat and can hardly wait to see it finished, but I had trouble getting started because I have only made the magic circle with sc. I'm probably an intermediate crocheter, but the shift you make in the instructions from MC to Round 1 might confuse beginners. As a technical writer, I would like to make a suggestion for writing a process like a crochet pattern. 1. Always include the weight of the yarn you use for the sample and the hook size for that yarn. 2. When you want the user to start with the MC--tell them up front to make it with 11 dc--just for clarity don't separate the MC instruction from Round 1. Some patterns don't consider the MC to be R1.

Thanks for the pattern.
